The Counter Placard
The zero-hardware handshake. One laminated tent card per location — the business's only "equipment." The customer's phone does everything else.

- 1One unique QR per location (not per business) — encodes a rotatable token, so a compromised or photographed card can be reissued from the dashboard without touching other locations.
- 2Short manual code (POND-XXXX) printed beneath the QR — the fallback for broken cameras, glare, or laminate wear. Same token, human-enterable.
- 3The staff quick guide is printed on the card itself — training ships with the artifact. Step 1 bakes in the "scan at payment" rule that closes most of the scan-and-walk-away gap.
- 4Step 3 teaches the two-second liveness check (moving frog, running clock, today's word) — staff verify the customer's screen, no staff device ever needed.
